ANN BERGSON has established an international reputation as a landscape watercolourist. She was trained at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm and later studied in Rome. She has exhibited widely in England, France and Sweden.

‘Bergson is a Modernist. Though she has been based in London since the 1960s and chosen to work primarily in watercolour, her work is far removed from the British amateur tradition. As a cousin of Henri Bergson, she comes out of the main stream of intellectual thought. Much of the thick, absorbent paper is left bare. She has a sparing, reductionist vision that with each picture aims to look at the world afresh.’
